Betty Nambooze Bakireke Escapes Police Arrest as she was Found Distributing Face Masks
Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze Bakireke escaped from police as it tried to arrest her when he was found distributing face masks to Kame Valley market vendors which were in Green and red colors.
Police managed to get her inside this market with her helpers while giving out masks to vendors and ordered her to stop and they informed her that she is under arrest.
Police managed to pull her out of this market but while on the way to Mukono division Police headquarters Nambooze managed to sneak away from them on Nabutti road and it managed to detain her driver Fred Kiyimba.

Below is the post what Nambooze posted on her social media platform.
I have been arrested and my car impounded and toured by Police this morning however I find the offences I’m charged with quite laughable and absurd to say the least;
Betty Nambooze,female Ugandan aged 50,MP for Mukono Municipality,resident of Nakabago-Njogezi zone and a Muganda by tribe is charged with the Offence of disobeying the Presidential directives.
Statement of the Offence: Betty Nambooze without seeking permission from the authority together with others disobeyed the Presidential directives by:
- Going to Kame Valley Market
2.Giving hundreds of Masks Green and red in colour to vendors. - Failed to handover the masks she donated to the District Covd19 commute for distribution.
- Refused to drive her car to the Police when told to do so by Officers on duty.
I would love to be taken up to court and get to test out these offences related to disobeying Presidential directives.
