Business man wanted by Ugandan Authorities over homosexuality offences

Police in Wakiso is hunting for a man who is being accused of Homosexuality offences.

Nasala Lubwama Godfery a prominent business man in Magere Wakiso District was arrested on 21st September 2023 and detained at Mutundwe Police post where he spent weeks.

He was charged with Homosexuality offences on case file No. Ref 25/21/9/23.

Its alleged that the 45year old has been working hand in hand with some of the LGBTQ Non-Governmental organizations which advocates for the rights of Homosexuals in Uganda.

In Uganda, the vice is illegal in accordance to the Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023 of the Penal Code.

Lubwama who is married and has a number of children was arrested after he was found with teenage boys in one of his homes in Magere a suburb of Kampala city where he was allegedly training and advocating for Homosexuality acts which are prohibited by the Ugandan laws.

According to the police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan region Luke Owoyesigyire, Lubwama was netted after some of the neighbors of his House tipped police that there were suspected homosexuality activities taking place in their area.

According to one police officer at Mutundwe police post who preferred anonymity, Lubwama was given a police bond on 9th, October, 2023 and ordered to appear before the OC/CID after one week, unfortunately he failed Police to honor his bond conditions.

“His file is now ready, all investigations are done, only awaiting to be forwarded to court” he added.

Efforts by this website to reach him or his relatives turned futile as all the phone numbers were off by press time.

Recently the parliament of the Republic of Uganda passed the Anti-Homosexuality/ Lesbian act and signed by the President to become the effective low.

The maximum sentence of the vice is life imprisonment or Death
