Lydia Namayengo Lost NUP ticket to Hanifa Nabukeera Luswata

Today, the Executive Board of the National Unity Platform sat and passed candidates for the position of Member of Parliament for various constituencies in the Central Region.
For Mukono Woman Member of Parliament NUP has approved Hanifer Nabukeera Luswata to contest on its flag in coming general elections of 2021.

This battle it had three candiadates who included Lydia Namayengo, Victoria Mwiri and Hanifa Nabukeera Luswata who has been given NUP card.
According to various sources in the district of Mukono they thought the party ticket of NUP could be given to Nameyengo because she has been in struggle of People Power for some good time but this has not happened.

Other candidates who have been approved to contest on NUP ticket for parliamentary elections for various constituencies in Mukono include, Male Wilson for Mukono South, Betty Nambooze Bakireke Mukono municipality, Abdallah Kiwanuka for Mukono North and Sam Ssimbwa Nakifuma
There are positions whose results were deferred for re-evaluation on account of different reasons. A team supervised by the Deputy President, Central Region is undertaking this task in the next 48 hours.
Tomorrow, NUP will be able to release a list of candidates for the Eastern region, and subsequently for the Northern and Western regions.
