One of the candidate we found at nomination center who lost in party primaries is Andrew Ssenyonga who is the current Mukono district said that he cannot entertain politics of mafias which hijacked NRM party.

Andrew Ssenyonga being nominated

After his nomination Ssenyonga accused the current leadership of NRM party of playing politics of divide and rule which has forced majority of them to quit it and contest as independent.

Stephen Mufuwa who was nominated on Monday and he is contesting to represent Nakisunga Sub County in Mukono district council said he will only look for president Museveni vote but not for others who are contesting on NRM ticket.

NRM has been winning most of elective position in Mukono district apart from Mukono municipality which is opposition strong hold but this time it has to fight very hard to have the majority in district leadership.

NRM political party problems in Mukono were sparked of by the entry of Hajji Haruna Ssemakula who entered the race for district chairperson and started giving out money to various groups of people.

His entry divided the entire party when he bought 15 motor cycles and gave them to party leadership at sub county level which Andrew Ssenyonga said it was a bribe.

This was exhibited during party primaries whereby those who were not in favor of Ssemakula all of them lost which has forced them to abandon the party and they decided to contest as independents in 2021 general elections.
