Peace Rugambwa is a household name in Western Uganda. Her remarkable and inspiring journey in the region spans over two decades, marked by a deep commitment to uplifting the poor and transforming lives. Through her life-changing initiative, Boona Bageigahare Nyekundire Group, thousands of vulnerable families have found hope, dignity, and a path out of poverty.
This year, her tireless service was formally recognised when His Excellency the President appointed her Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People. This appointment was not merely a promotion; it was a clear acknowledgment that even the highest office in the land values and appreciates her selfless contribution to grassroots empowerment. Her elevation is a powerful testament that genuine service, humility, and consistency do not go unnoticed.
Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People, Peace Rugambwa
Peace Rugambwa, prefers to be identified simply as Peace. Perhaps it is a personal choice, or perhaps it reflects who she truly is. Either way, the name mirrors her character.
She is humble, calm, resilient, and deeply principled. A born-again Christian, she is guided by honesty, faith, and a strong sense of service. Peace does not lead with noise or confrontation; she leads with quiet strength, conviction, and purpose.
This is precisely why efforts to undermine or obstruct her initiatives rarely succeed. Her work is rooted in sincerity and genuine concern for people, especially at the grassroots. She listens, she engages, and she delivers.
Upon her appointment, Peace Rugambwa swiftly relaunched and expanded the Boona Bageigahare Nyekundire Group initiatives, with renewed focus on women, youth, and boda boda riders across Western Uganda. Through this platform, she injected seed capital into community SACCOs, enabling ordinary people to start businesses, strengthen savings, and take meaningful steps out of poverty.
This momentum continued steadily until the launch of the presidential campaigns, when she took on the demanding task of mobilizing and campaigning for her principal, H.E. the President. Even then, her commitment to grassroots empowerment never slowed.

Across Western Uganda, Rugambwa channeled additional resources into SACCOs and organized groups of market vendors, ghetto youth, tomato traders, fresh food dealers, central market matooke and cassava traders, car wash operators, and many other informal sector players. Each intervention was carefully targeted, practical, and designed to uplift livelihoods rather than create dependency.
The Peace Rugambwa Effect: Baptizing Opposition into NRM
Upon her appointment as Senior Presidential Advisor, Peace Rugambwa emerged as a masterful unifier and a strategic harvester of political goodwill in Western Uganda. Through her influence, she has successfully drawn thousands of opposition members, particularly from the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), into the NRM fold.
Her approach is never coercive; she relies entirely on persuasive dialogue, personal engagement, and the power of words. By winning hearts Rugambwa has transformed political dynamics in the region, demonstrating that true leadership is rooted in conviction, respect, and moral authority, rather than intimidation or force.
Through her exceptional mobilization skills, Peace Rugambwa has been one of the strategic masterminds behind most of President Museveni’s monumental rallies in Western Uganda. Her growing influence has begun to unsettle the so-called political godfathers of the region, those who once believed themselves to be the undisputed alphas of Western Uganda.
Some fear that Peace Rugambwa’s rising wave might wash them into political oblivion. Yet, their anxieties are misplaced. Peace’s mission has never been about fueling internal district or regional rivalries; her focus remains steadfastly on poverty eradication, strengthening NRM mobilization, and ensuring that capable NRM flagbearers succeed in Western Uganda.
The Peace Rugambwa Spirit
The Peace Rugambwa spirit is defined by her conviction and an unshakable determination to persevere. For over two decades, she has faced challenges, and attempts by very powerful politicians to derail her initiatives, but through it all, she has never wavered, never yielded, and never lost. This enduring resilience is what makes her a battle-hardened fighter, a leader who transforms adversity into triumph.
Friedrich Nietzsche once wrote, “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” Peace’s “why” is clear: the upliftment of her people, the strengthening of communities, and the pursuit of meaningful development. Her ability to endure setbacks, confront resistance, and remain focused on her mission demonstrates that resilience transforms obstacles into stepping stones toward success.
This combination of moral courage, strategic vision, and relentless drive explains why Peace Rugambwa continues to triumph where others falter. Her journey offers a timeless lesson: success is not merely about talent or opportunity; it is about the steadfast refusal to give up, even in the face of adversity.
For those who seek genuine progress, growth, and transformation, the path is clear: follow the example of leaders like Peace Rugambwa, commit with conviction, persevere relentlessly, and let resilience chart the course to success.
