Passengers Escape Death As Perfect Coaches Bus Skids Road 

Ntungamo District – Passengers aboard a Perfect Coaches Company bus are counting themselves lucky after the vehicle slipped off the road in Kahengye, along the Ntungamo–Rukungiri highway, early Sunday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the bus, which was heading towards Rukungiri, lost traction and veered off the tarmac.

Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, though some passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at nearby medical facilities. The cause of the accident is yet to be officially confirmed.

Local authorities, together with traffic police, responded swiftly to the scene to ensure the safety of passengers and to restore traffic flow along the busy route.

“We thank God that everyone survived. The bus is one we have used and trusted for years, and we are relieved this incident did not turn tragic,” one passenger said.

The Ntungamo–Rukungiri road is a key transport route in southwestern Uganda, frequently used by long-distance buses connecting districts in the Kigezi region to Kampala.
