The Masaka City, National Resistance Movement (NRM) party chairman Rogers Bulegeya has advised the party supporters to rally for votes of President Museveni ahead of 2026 general elections with confidence as the president is in power to stay.
Mr. Bulegeya was speaking at the Head office of NRM in Masaka City during an exclusive interview on Tuesday and advised them to work hard and unite all the party voters including those that are still in opposition side to join the force early to avoid losing opportunities in the next government.
Mr. Bulegeya said, the president of Uganda, Mr. Museveni must win with 67 percent margin and appealed to the party supporters to rally for his votes and early mobilization.
The National Resistance movement party has nominated several leaders in Greater Masaka Region and in Masaka City alone, Mr. Bulegeya said the party has plenty and capable candidates worth of leadership and representing the party.
As for clarity, Hon. Justine Nameere was nominated as the aspiring Masaka City Woman Member of Parliament destined to compete in 2026 general elections, Mr. Robert Assimwe nominated to compete as the Kimanya Kabonera Member of Parliament with the Masaka City nominated Mayor as Mr. Dembe Fredrick ‘Kipapaali’ and other leaders in regional, divisional and village leadership thus far.

Mr. Bulegeya said all the nominated leaders are expected to rally for both their votes and the votes of president Museveni and all nominated leaders by the party should be supported by party leaders that didn’t pass through in elections during the nomination process.
“At this moment, the party is assured of early victory as most of our opponents are fighting within themselves. The nominated leaders, Ms Justine Nameere is a lawyer and a leader ready to serve the party, Mr. Dembe sent for Mayor’s position has been working with president Museveni before and Mr. Assimwe holds a PHD in leadership management and business credentials which gives him upper hand in the competition,’’ added Bulegeya.
The National Resistance movement party is regaining its lost glory in Greater Masaka Region and most of its party members are racing against time to lift the flag of the party higher thus far.
“As the party secretariat, the National Resistance movement nominated leaders and these candidates are representing their subjects and the interests of the party. Let us understand that the best way to make the party a great force is to work together and welcome new entrants with potential and passion to be leaders within the party and supporters,” said Mr. Bulegeya.
According to Mr. Bulegeya, president Museveni has faced stiff competition, challenges and ensuring that the country has stable economy, he has remained a leader of all and sundry.
“I assure Mr. Museveni that we will win with 67 percent margin in the elections as Masaka City,” he said.
“I have been a leader in the National Resistance Movement under President Museveni. The president has emphasized the four acre module, parish module and as Masaka City we owe you nothing which is developing the people. As Masaka City,” he said before appealing to all the leaders nominated to aspire for victory and ensure that they win since politics is about winning.
