How Government Development Programs  Have  Transformed the Lives of Youth in Masaka City

President Yoweri Museveni initiated the Parish Development Module with an aim of transforming the lives of people thereby eradicating poverty among households with the majority of the youth in Uganda being the primary beneficiaries and targeted audience.

As for Clarity, the government under President Museveni has worked tirelessly in using the project as a unifying factor for development of the people of the country and Masaka City is no exceptional.

With the approximate population of over one million people working and living within Masaka City, a lot of concerns had remained un tackled until the Parish Development Module was introduced and funds started being disbursed on the mobile phone accounts of the beneficiaries through Wendi application and banking institution.

From the analytical point of view and reference, people who have benefited from the project in the Masaka City their lives have never remained the same and president Museveni being at the centre of their hearts having brought smile to them after receiving shs: 1,000,000 (One Million Shilling) to spur their production owes them appreciation in form of votes and confidence for more five terms in power.

The current situation in the country gives majority of the population in Masaka City led by outgoing Mayor Florence Namayanja and it is  a clear over view of why working under the government of President Museveni could add value to their production.

As youth, ahead of 2026 general elections such factors could be influential for their informed decisions and to decide whether continuing with old fogey in President Museveni and his planning ahead could spur more income generating avenues.

Several farmers for example; Mr. Robert Ssali also the Chairperson National Resistance Movenment Gayaza Village under Kimanya Kabonera Constituency and people in the business sector have found a huge fortunes in utilizing the government projects into their basic earning source of income for example; the Parish Developmental Module application is a guarantee to every citizen of Uganda under the stewardship of his or her Village Chairperson and Local Council (LC1) in the Local Government setting.

According to Mr. Rogers Bulegeya, the Chairperson Masaka City NRM, when the government initiated the program for Parish Development Module, it took well guided efforts for the people to embrace the program but today, majority of the youth in Kimanya- Kabonera Consitituency and others within Masaka District have got the funds.

It is a great initiative to see that majority of the youth have made up their mind to acquire these funds, a mobilization from the government under their parish chiefs and parish Development Module Treasury.

Most of the beneficiaries are into farming; thereby rearing pigs, chickens and those into coffee farming under their affiliated community groups and these have generated potential for the youth to earn a living and boost their businesses.

With the current population of the country ranging to over 42 million people approximately according to Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Uganda is looking ahead to hit the maximum production and productivity target in its financial plans under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development (MFPED) so the initiative of PDM lives a great legacy from 2021-2026 President Museveni’s achievements.

The Government of President Museveni has in addition laboured to tranfuse energy in lecturing youth through agro-business programs and mentorship trainings as the beneficiaries are normally subjected into drills of financial trainings thereby holding lectures with community development officers, District Agricultural Officers and other people who are relevant in taking home the funds thus improving their development affairs.

As the Country looks forward to regain its strength in economic development, the real economics surrounding Parish Development Module has awakened the youth mindset to start up their business in community groups and develop their welfare by paying in returns a minimal profit of shs: 60,000 for the shs:1000,000 purchased from the program.

Accordingly, this add up the value addition of the country’s economy per annum in terms of empowering the youth and their affiliated developmental groups which makes the industry prosper thus far.

As the country, Uganda is too endowed with the leader who is so visionary and initiating the idea of Parish Development Module lives the country at the top of the economical standards and these are very crutial and critical for the future of the country thus far.

The introduction of Parish Developmental module not only gave a room for the youth and the general public a thy of relief but also impacted the community in so many ways which is relatively a great initiative for the planning and future aspirations of the country.

In a nutshell, Uganda, has lived to different ministerial departments but the parish Development Module greatly gave a room for the Masaka City people to embrace the concerns and worries as solved opportunities after the initiation of the Parish Development Module.

From the analytical point of view, President Museveni has empowered youth in Masaka City and many that purchased the funds have been able to start up small businesses, unit under different groups and make collaborative efforts in expanding their productivity.

Take an example of the 50 groups of people cleared for Kimanya Kabonera Consitituency and others in Masaka District that got funds during the second phase, their productivity forex e.g Kirimya Poultry B youth group that recieved funds for poultry farming and Gayaza Nabowa Piggery Group under Chairperson Ssali Robert that got the funds for its selected members were greatly inspired by President Museveni’s aided initiative.

The future of the country ahead of Elections, lives a lot of memories to refers to as for President Museveni’s future aspirations ahead of elections and it could be a determinant for the people of Masaka City to make informed decisions and wishes on a leader who wished them the best for their households income.
