Braving for Motor vehicle engineering; Mugenyi reaps big in computerized car repairing in Uganda

The Motor Vehicle engineering sector in Uganda is rapidly growing rapidly due to modern technology and innovations with the country today producing electric cars under Kira Motors as evidenced historically under the ruling government of Uganda’s oldest president in Yoweri Kaguta Museveni alias Tibuhaburwa and it requires skilled personnel to foster its growth and Appolo Mugenyi; a moto vehicle engineer with specialty in computerized car repairing is no exceptional.

“I started-off as a Moto vehicle engineer in Kabusu suburbs at Bumu garage by repairing cars but later in 2019, I upgraded and went to Dubai for Motor Vehicle engineering studies where I mastered skills of repairing computerized cars at Ravon International trading license before rosing to Harrow Security Services where I was able to learn several skills including the types of oil serviced in cars and computerized programmed car repairing,” shared Appolo Mugenyi, an enterprising Motor Vehicle engineer with a specialty in computerized car engineering and servicing at Apple Victory Auto and Repair garage at Kabusu suburbs in Kampala City.

Mugenyi is an ardent catholic at Holy Family Ministries- Kabowa spearheaded by Brother John Baptist Baliruno as he narrates passionately about car driving and repairing; fast-class cars; such as Range Rover, Mercedes Benz and saloon cars with a bias to expose Ugandan engineering sector to the furthest.

He was born to Mr. Charles Katusiime and Ms Olivia Katusime residents of Ibanda District and attended Lwengolo and Lubiri Primary School and Kyabenda secondary school though his passion for owning a car and fostering its repairing evolved after college.

“I was able to learn how to maintain the computerized car and its skills in resetting it by using diagnosis scanner at Harrow Security Services in Dubai. When I returned, I opened up a car repairing garage; Apple Victory Auto and Repair garage dealing in Computerized programmed car repairing at Kabusu Suburbs in Kampala City,” narrates Mugenyi.

“I am mastery at offering oil service and panel beating and repairing engines at all levels and I am unique and creative in installing software and repairing computerized cars of all formations,” said Mugenyi a versatile engineer who has risen to become the a formidable figure in computerized car repairing in Uganda.

According to Mugenyi, he prefers all cars of kind but ponders that the Germany cars; Mercedes Benz and Range Rovers; V8 normally are built in a computerized formation including the latest computerized electric cars which he says are the mostly preferred cars to be owned and are driven with ease due to their attractive looks and features for the drivers.

As the pioneer of Apple Victory Auto and Repair garage; Mugenyi is optimistic with his autonomous ideas and skills learnt in dealing with clients and has been able to extend the business at Nsangi suburbs along Masaka Road to reach out to several drivers’ necessities.
“The computerized cars are extremely expensive cars, and their repairing equipment normally takes a lot of time and money fore stance it can cost shs: 1million as most of their spear parts are normally fetched from Dubai,” added Mugenyi.

Accordingly, the former started off with shs: 4million as the financial capital for exploring the business and he has been able to grow into an innovative Motor vehicle engineer with plans to expand business to higher heights in different regions of the country.

Born in 1989; from a humble background of following the passion of owning cars and repairing them too, the 34-year-old Mugenyi has been able to enforce the knowledge and physically fit like a fiddle to deal with car clients from all spheres of the country.

“I have been able to gain trust and credibility from the clients whom I have associated with, and their patience have made me prosperous,” he says.

Additionally, Mugenyi shares that Mr. Sam Nimusiima has helped him a lot to start the Motor vehicle business and he has been able to inspire him to roar for extra skills and he has been able to earn a living during his grand seven years in the business.

He advises that young enterprising moto vehicle engineers should believe in themselves, and it only needs patience and passion to exercise it and it is the profession of extension based on courage and determination and trustworthy among the two parties: engineers and car clients respectively.
“I normally receive clients from people ready to buy cars and they tip-off their friends after serving their cars well,” he adds.

Mugenyi is mastery at batter exchange of cars and is a specialist in car wing and camera installation and car bulbs cleaning and its required necessities,” he shares.
He is also certified in oil car use in winter and in winter and summer and is credited as the licensed driver with knowledge and skills acquired from abroad.

“In the beginning; I knew less about AC computerized cars and Head lights installation but today I hold all the skills,” he added.

To remain connected and intact with clients; Mugenyi has extended the business by installing data base for the clients and their requirement necessities,” he shares.
He added that Motor Vehicle engineering needs data base and research analyst and it requires support from the government of the republic of Uganda to ensure that Moto vehicle engineering sector is well funded.

“Most of the requirements needed is the transport funds and cars like Range Rover and V8 normally requires installed stocks for its movement on local roads and the blue joint coil and suspensions are normally changed for its further movement which is relatively expensive, and I normally get them by auditioning,” he added.

Mugenyi narrates that oil mileage and services offered to the car are based on its oil mileage rank and the oil used in Ugandan cars differs from the car oil used in countries like Dubai,” he says.

The Motor vehicle engineering sector according to him is broad and it depends of its volatility and capital investment for successful works.

As for its specialty; Mugenyi bought the computer at shs: 25m and it repairs cars ranging from module 1990 to 2025 depending on its soft-ware and it is mainly restored and upgraded following its duration of maintenance.

“The machines we normally use are extremely expensive and the costs; 150,000 monthly afforded for rent charges requires me to think big and work tirelessly for the good of the clients and my personal aspiration and the growths of my company,” he said.
