BUHWEJU: ONC Coordinators Hold Meetings to Address PDM Anomalies in Burere Sub County

In response to numerous calls from the people of Rwajere, Burere Sub-county in Buhweju District, a team from the Office of the National Chairman NRM (ONC) Bushenyi Sub Region  visited the area to engage directly with the community.

The team led by Ms. Kansiime Peace, the Sub region Coordinator, alongside Mwesigye Kenneth, the Coordinator for Buhweju, and Muhumuza Michael, the Coordinator for Sheema took initiative and listened to the concerns and challenges raised by the residents of Rwajere,  line with the NRM’s commitment to maintaining a close relationship with the people and ensuring that their voices are heard at the highest levels of leadership in the Country.

Some of the challenges highlighted by the residents were the anomalies in the Parish Development Model program where Parish chiefs, LC 1 Chairpersons and the PDM Committees ask for bribes before and after handing over the funds to the beneficiaries.

“The officers went on and grabbed our national ID’s, saying that they were going to help us in the registration  of sim cards, to our surprise they decided to keep them for us until money reaches, they go on and deduct our money without our consent, we are requesting ONC to rescue us from the PDM thugs” a number of residents explained to the Coordinators.

Kansiime in he response said that all  findings and key issues highlighted by the community will be forwarded to the Office of the National Chairman for action and  emphasized that these matters would be handled in collaboration with the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Buhweju, to ensure prompt and effective solutions.

The ONC team visit  to Rwajere underscores the party’s commitment to grassroot engagement and resolving issues affecting the community. Under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s direction, the ONC seeks to promote growth and raise everyone’s standard of living by enhancing communication and collaboration between the national government and local communities.
