Female Journalist is wanted by Uganda Authorities over Homosuality/Lesbianism Acts

Uganda Police are hunting for Nakimera Grace a female Journalist who is being accused of Lesbianism acts.

Nakimera works with one of the radios in Eastern Uganda, its alleged that she has been working hand in hand with some of the LGBTQ Non-Governmental organizations which advocates for the rights of Homosexuals in Uganda.

In Uganda, the vice is illegal according to Uganda Anti-Homosexuality/Lesbianism Act 2023 of the Penal Code.

Nakimera 37 was on 3rd, June 2023 arrested after she was found with a number of young Girls in one of the house she was renting in Buikwe District

According to the police spokesperson Sezibwa region Hellen Butoto, Nakimera was netted after one of her neighbors tipped police that there were lesbian activities taking place in one of the two roomed house in Njeru Town Buikwe District.

She was charged with homosexuality/Lesbiansm offences on case number GEF. 05/28/05/2023.

She was released on 6^th June, 2023 on police bond and ordered to appear before the OC/CID at Wakisi Police Station on 9th, June, 2023 at 10:00 Am.

However, Nakimera never reported back to Police to honour her bond conditions and she has been on a run since then.

On 8th July 2023, the Lugazi Chief Magistrate’s Court issued an arrest order against Nakimera. The Court directed police to arrest and produce her before Chief Magistrate H. Musoke of Jinja Magistrates court so that she could be charged with counts of homosexuality/ Lesbiansm acts.

“She is wanted in courts of law to answer charges pressed against her.” One of the police officers at Wakisi said.

Up to date, Ugandan authorities are still on hunt for Nakimera in order to be brought to book.

Facts about Nakimera Grace;

Nakimera’s ex-male partner who preferred anonymity due of the sensitivity of the matter, told this news website that he got to know that the former wife was a homosexual in early 2020 and he had to call off their marriage.

This came after the Husband also pressed CCTV Cameras all over the house and found out that his wife had female partners she was in love with, and then he called for a family meeting which sat and advised the man to call off the marriage immediately.

“One day I checked into her phone and landed on love messages between her and a fellow woman. It was so heartbreaking,” he disclosed.

“The decision to leave her was painful since I loved her so much but I had nothing to do. I couldn’t stay with an evil person. She confessed right in my face that over the years she had grown love for fellow women and men were no longer her thing,” he further recalled.
