Masaka City roads network constructed by the Government
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been at the helms of Uganda’s leadership since 1986.
To be frank, Masaka City had remained in trenches, call it under the road lanes before when compared to sister cities such as Mbarara Cities that had developed on a bumpy ride due to their conservativeness of being opposition side.
The changing narrative of the voters and leaders after becoming Born Again Christians and saw the light in Mr. Museveni and support the ruling government has awakened the production and service delivery in the area.
As for Clarity, The government has initiated plans in the Masaka region that have made Masaka City local leaders and the citizens amazed by the activities and timely innovations initiated by the government in overcoming poverty and boosting the production.
For the area that barely lived without Streetlights, Modern Markets and Hospitals in the yesteryears, Today, Masaka City boost with Roadway streetlights in the region and nearby villages within Masaka City have no worries with security during the night.

President Museveni through USMID Program disbursed street lights that have given Masaka City a reason to believe as electricity and solar panel assisted Streetlights circulated to overcome insecurity and bringing natural beauty in the Masaka City.
With the introduction of Masaka City and Nyendo Market, Mr. Museveni has extended cheap and affordable resources to the locals as many people are getting cheaper commodities such as house wares; food and clothes at a lowered cost within Masaka City Market and Nyendo Market introduced during the 40-years-reign of President Museveni.
As for clarity, Streetlights were installed across Masaka City through the Uganda Support for Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) program, initially 350 in 2012 and later expanded by 730 under the Electricity Development Sector Programme. These projects enhanced security and boosted nighttime commerce under President Museveni’s government.
Additionally, the innovations to boosting educational facilities as many were renovated, ensuring schools could better serve students such as Masaka Secondary School also a government aided school and ST Henry’s College Kitovu also a catholic college aided by the government and others.

Health wise, the Masaka Regional Referral Hospital and multiple health centers—including Kasana Maternity, Kitabaazi, and Kyabakuza—received significant upgrades, improving healthcare access for residents have all inspired the NRM government to roar for more leadership positions in the area.
In boosting the Trade and commerce industry, President Museveni under his governments, Markets have been modernized and renovated.
The Nyendo Market, accommodating 2,000 traders, was refurbished at Shs25 billion, while Masaka Municipality Market restoration works began at Shs20 billion, positioning Masaka as a regional commercial hub.

In the past years, NRM government had remained stagnant with most of the population being opposers of the ruling government but through the development schemes, the government has deliberately changed the narrative and people’s perception about leadership thus attracting people to vote for the ruling government.
President Museveni’s legacy has been acclimatized by better selection of leaders and people who are influential in leadership for example; the extension of District Resident Commissioners (RDC’s) and their assistants and leaders such as commissioned Ministers, and Law and Justice Chiefs in Courts of laws that have made the region relevant in adhering to the ruling government.
The work exercised by the Resident District Commissioners in the region and other leaders have turned the reputation of the ruling government and many of voters today embrace National Resistance movement (NRM) as a party that unites all and sundry both democratically and developmentally.
Several mentorship trainings and commercialized youth programs including in leadership have been extended to the people by the District Resident Commissioners which has bridged the gap and communication flow in the communities.
As for Clarity, President Museveni has carried out regional sensitization of the people including the youth to benefit from government programs and adhere to stand for leadership positions under National Resistance movement.
This has championed the growth of the different rural and urban areas, and numerous villages within the Masaka City and beyond have adopted to the government programs and initiatives thus far.
The introduction of government women groups Saccos such as GROW in Uganda’s banking Institution for example DFCU Bank, and exerting efforts on the security of the student’s well-fare including the introduction of free bursaries to students in the area have all worked miracles for the ruling government.
By and large, leaders in the region including the nominated Masaka City leaders such as Hon. Robert Assimwe, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Kimanya Kabonera Constituency and others; Hon. Justine Nameere have trust of the public having worked with the government for a long time.
Hon. Justine Nameere is serving as the presidential advisor and Hon. Assimwe has been in security and production with the government different institutions which gives the community confidence to vote for the ruling government.
Through extending resources under the support of the government such as Infrastructure Development (Roads, hospitals and schools) have been built in Masaka City under the ruling government which gives hope to the voters to let President Museveni be ahead of their adrenaline and minds ahead of 2026 general elections.
Additionally, Masaka City boost with approximately over one million people who are in retail and commercial businesses and their adoption to working and supporting the ruling government have seen their businesses prosper due to little revenue collected from them annually by Uganda Revenue Authority.
The government of President Museveni has also buried the hatchet with the opposition leader’s for example the Democratic Front Party’s leader Mathias Mpuuga and most of his supporters in Nyendo Mukungwe Constituency and supporting president Museveni.
Accordingly, majority of the ruling government leaders in the area are emerging youth who are vibrant and gigantic in supporting government programs and these have awakened the mindsets of the fellows and age mates to make informed decision and vote for president Museveni.

Arguably, Masaka City is the center of business such Hotels; Hotel Next owned by Mr. Sotius Ssegawa arguably the area’s preferred Hotel, and Brovad Hotel to mention a few and influential leaders emerge from the region today advocate for the voting of President Museveni ahead of 2026 elections.
The introduction of Security organs such Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) in monitoring government programs have nulled down worries and frustrations leaders had before and local people in effective delivery of the resources and funds.
The Masaka City having the leadership of the Party structures under Mr. Rogers Bulegeya has also enabled the National Resistance movement to gain strength and purpose as most of the government projects are wholly disbursed to responsible beneficiaries and aspiring leaders mostly the youth are free to stand for positions and many have replaced the old men and women in party leadership without segregation and ambiguity in leadership.
The current status of the National Resistance movement in Masaka signals early lead for the president Museveni compared to the past results where the opposition parties such as Democratic Party and National Unity Platform had utilized.
