I want my Food back: Arrested city lawyer warns Mukono Police

POLICE in Mukono on Tuesday 21st April 2020 arrested city lawyer of Kiwanuka, Anyango and Tamale advocates who doubles as People Power coordinator of greater Mukono Abdallah Kiwanuka and later on the 22nd April, 2020 produced before the chief magistrate Juliet Hatanga and charged with spreading a deadly disease COVID 19.
He was later bailed out on a one million shillings cash bail and five hundred shillings non-cash to each of the three sureties presented by his lawyer Chrysostom Katumba. However Kiwanuka was ordered not to leave his home until 6th May as a bail condition. The magistrate further ruled that his truck Suzuki box body Reg. no. UAK 825Z which he was driving during his arrest stay at police until 6th May with all the food items
However on return to court today, he went to Mukono police to also pick his truck and food which was confiscated by law enforcing officers , Kiwanuka say the food and other stuffs as registered by police were all missing in the truck.
Via a telephone interview, Kiwanuka told The Scribe News that the food and the truck were all recorded and it surprised him to find only two rip batches of matooke.
“I took photos of all the food in the car on my arrest and I have also recorded and captured what I found when i went pick my car” Kiwanuka added.
When asked on what he plans to do next, the city lawyer said, “let us wait for the conclusion of the case filed against me and then I will petition court for my property”.
Kiwanuka will return to the chief magistrates court in Mukono on 14th May 2020 for the hearing of his case which is being charged of spreading COVID 19.
Abdallah Kiwanuka is the Mukono District Democratic Party legal advisor and a major political rival to Hon. Kibuule Ronald in Mukono North Constituency MP sit.
