NUP Leader gives Election Tips ahead of next Year’s Elections

Masaka, Uganda – Hon. Joan Namutaawe, the Woman Representative for Masaka District and a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has advised youth in Bukoto Central Constituency to vote for NUP leaders in the upcoming 2025 general elections. According to Namutaawe, this strategy will aid in effective service delivery under the government of Presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi.

Speaking at Kyanamukaka Sub County headquarters, Namutaawe emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork within the party, urging leaders to follow NUP’s rules and regulations. She warned against corruption, stating that leaders involved in corruption scandals should face the law. “If they are willing to give you money during elections, eat that money. Not as a bait for being corrupt in mind. The funds are needed and it is tax payers’ money: eat their money but don’t vote for them,” she advised.

Ahead of the youth elections on June 2, 2025, over 33 youth from Bukoto Central Constituency are vying for leadership positions. Aspiring leaders like Magellan Kazibwe and Alex Ntamu are encouraging youth to stand for leadership positions and advocating for mindset change trainings and protest vote sensitization.

Kazibwe, an aspiring Member of Parliament for Bukoto Central Constituency, expressed his availability to lead youth and community leaders in mindset change trainings. Ntamu, also an NUP aspiring leader, urged youth to vote for a fresh and youthful president who can relate to their style and aspirations, rather than re-electing President Museveni, whom he likened to an “over-aged lion”.

It’s worth noting that while Namutaawe, as a Woman Representative representing Masaka District, her message, resonates with NUP’s broader agenda for improved service delivery and good governance.
