ONC Boss Hadijah Namyalo Injects cash into famous Kazo-Angola SACCO in Kawempe Division
SPA-HEAD Office of the National Chairman’s office Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has promised support for Kampala City’s famous Kazo-Angola SACCO.
The SACCO based in Kawempe Division started in 2001 is now trying to revive its operations after being affected by the global COVID pandemic.
This is aimed at helping the SACCO to restore its model status once enjoyed.
Hajjat Namyalo gave them shs.500,000 on Sunday at a function held at Kawempe Muslim Primary School.
The event served as a fundraiser for the SACCO’s rejuvenation.
She was represented by Kawempe ONC Coordinators Hannifah Nakimuli and Alex Masereka (Media)
She promised the SACCO her full support as one of her mandate to uplift the organized institutions as directed by HE Yoweri Kaguta Museven the National Chairman NRM Party.
Elated leaders of the SACCO were in full praise of the ONC Boss and pledged to restore it to its former glory.
Started with the help of Plan Trust International, Kazo-Angola SACCO with over 3000 members, morphed into a cooperative society in 2004.
It’s success was curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic that according to the interim chairman, Samuel Balamaga, promoted members to withdraw their money resulted to its decline.
He revealed that they intend to raise shs150m in six months as part of the strategy to revive the sacco.
Shs5.8m was raised in Sunday’s fundraiser.
President Yoweri Museveni has been preaching savings and income generating activities.
