President Museveni Hails SDA Church for Role in Unity, Wealth Creation as Bishop Kajura is Installed in Busoga

BUSOGA — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commended the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Busoga Field, for its contribution to faith, education, health and community transformation, saying the church remains a key partner in government development efforts.

The President’s message was delivered by the Minister for the Presidency and Director for SDA Busoga Women Field, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, during the installation of Bishop Pastor Kajura Jimmy as Bishop of the Busoga SDA Field, Yesterday.

The President noted that the installation “marks more than a change of leadership. It marks a change of crescent in the Spiritual and administrative journey of the Busoga Adventist field church.”
“This installation is a confirmation to us all that God continues to call men and women into leadership at all levels. We therefore receive Bishop Pastor Kajura Jimmy for service in the Busoga Seventh Day Adventist field with humility,” he added.

H.E. the president praised the SDA Church in Busoga for “strengthening the work of God and promoting community transformation” and for spreading “the gospel of unity and patriotism that is inherent in the Adventist spiritual values.” he said

He noted that church’s commitment to faith, discipline, education, health and service has made Adventist institutions visible across communities. “A community that prays together can also work together to fight poverty, and other community challenges can be met corporately. We all know that unity is strength,” she said, urging members to use the occasion as “a moment of renewal of strength” to work with their Bishop to advance the gospel.

Quoting John 10:10 — “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” — the President challenged believers to guard against anything that “prohibits their growth and transformation.”

He called on Christians to be active participants in government wealth creation programs including Emyooga, Parish Development Model (PDM), Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), and Agriculture at the parish level.“The NRM leadership has already set up systems of wealth creation in many ways, and we must all be active participants,” he said.“God has blessed Busoga with resources, and I exhort you to harness them to further the NRM cause of self-reliance and self-sustainability of all Ugandans.”

He encouraged Bishop Kajura to “lead with the word of God as a compass” and to shepherd God’s people “with wisdom and compassion. ”I also encourage you to mobilise resources using your network of friends, development partners and goodwill ambassadors that God may present to you. This will further the progress of the church and craft for you a legacy,” he said.

“We are saying, ‘No more sleep’ for us all until we see that the entire African race is integrated in values, secure and economically sound. I congratulate you once again and wish you fruitful and peaceful leadership in your tenure of service in the Busoga field,” he said

The installation was attended by his grace archbishop, Samuel Kajoba, government officials, community leaders, SDA church leaders and church members from Busoga.
