JONATHAN BAYAAKA ON RUN TO SAVE HIS LIFE AFTER ARREST AND TORTURE

AS THE COUNTRY IS PREPARING FOR THE 2026 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS OPPOSITION MEMBERS UPTO NOW ARE NOT SAFE IN THE COUNTRY THEY ARE BEING ABDUCTED,ARRESTED BY THE NRM GOVERNMENT IN POWER. OTHERS GO MISSING AND OTHERS ARE ON RUN TO SAVE THEIR LIVES.
It is now four years since Jonathan Bayaaka had run out of the country to save his life. He was one of the best National Unity Platform NUP staunch youth mobilizer in mukono District and Central region.
Bayaaka Jonathan a Resident of Nabuti Village, Mukono Central Division, born on Dec-07-1993 was among the many unlucky supporters of NUP Presidential Candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine, who were kidnapped and allegedly tortured for being affiliated to the country’s main opposition political party.
As family and Mukono NUP offices when approached they said that Bayaaka was advised to leave the country because it was very clear that his life was in total danger.
According to close family members emphasized that the young man nearly lost his life. On 9th March 2021 it is one of the day they had given up on him after he was kidnapped and they couldn’t trace him for more than 5 days. Lastly they are sure Jonathan Bayaaka is still on wanted list because security organs like police, SFC,JAT are still unlawfully search their places looking for him.
Jonathan Bayaaka is one of the many Ugandans who were kidnapped and tortured over their political affiliation. Many Opposition supporters and Politicians who were arrested during the 2020-2021 general elections are up to date still languishing in jail and safe houses for not supporting the current NRM Government.
The Opposition National Unity Platform Party in Parliament has tabled several reports and requests arguing Government to produce its members in civil Courts, but all in vain.
The NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi said that as a party they are doing the needful to see that the security produces all the suspects in courts of law if at all there criminal charges pressed to them.
