Relief Food Distribution Kicks off in Mukono District

THE Mukono District Covid19 task force has today Wednesday 22nd April,2020 decided to kick off the distribution of food to people in need. This comes after a full month when people in Mukono are starving for food.

They have distributed Posho and beans approximate to 13 tones which was corrected from various well wishers from Mukono.

The kick off ceremony was witnessed by Bishop of Mukono  James William Ssebaggala at the District headquarters who has also donated 1tone of Posho.

ASP Dr. Fred Yiga

The chairperson of the relief committee ASP Dr. Fred Yiga informed that food to be distributed amounting to 13 tones is to be distributed today is solicited from Mukono people and requested more people who can help to do it.

Yiga also requested those who may get poor quality beans not to blame government since the beans were all got from well wishers not the government. He further informed that they are going to be helped by The RED CROSS SOCIETY Mukono Branch in distributing the relief items starting with Butebe, Mulago and Industrial area zone in Mukono Central Division, Mukono Municipality 

Ann Kigudde who is vice youth chairman Buganda in Buganda Kingdom asked well wishers to come out and donate food to single mothers who are taking care of many children.

Kigudde remarks came after the task force in charge of Mukono district visited some families at Butebe village and found many women taking care of children dumped at their homes either by their daughters and sons and they had little to feed them.
