Speaking at the Thanksgiving service for Rev. Dr. Basome Samson in Busei, Iganga, on Saturday, February 23, Minister Lumumba praised Reverend Basome’s academic achievements, particularly his recent PhD attainment. She encouraged the community to draw inspiration from his journey, as chronicled in his book, “The Journey from Obscurity to Academic Success”.
“As parents, it is our responsibility to invest in our children’s education, for it is the key to unlocking their potential and securing a brighter future for our nation,” Minister Lumumba said.
Minister Lumumba purchased 20 copies of the book for Busesa Primary School, urging students to use it as a guiding light for their own educational pursuits.
In a message delivered by Rev. Canon Dr. John Magumba, the Bishop of Central Busoga Diocese Rt. Rev. Patrick Wakula, stressed the importance of education and encouraged the community to utilize Rev. Basome’s academic achievements. Rev. Canon Dr. John Magumba is the chairperson Governing Council to Bishop Hannington Institute of Theology and Development Studies.
