Rogers Muyambi: A Shining Star in Ugandan Radio and Philanthropy.

In a world where success is often measured by wealth and fame, Rogers Mukisa Muyambi  (known on radio as Mukiss Rookiss) stands out as a shining example of what it means to live a life of purpose and passion. As the Station Manager at RFM Iganga and the Executive Director of Goodheart Uganda, Rogers has dedicated his life to making a positive impact in his community.

Born in Bugembe, Jinja, Rogers grew up in a humble household, where he had to work hard to support his education. Despite the challenges, he remained committed to his studies, recognizing that education was the key to a better life.

“I remember washing vehicles and cultivating sugar canes to pay for my school fees,” Roger recalls. “But I never gave up on my dreams”.

Born to Tibendha Hadijah and Muyambi Samuel, Rogers early life was marked by struggle and hardship. However, he never let his circumstances define him. Instead, he used them as motivation to remain focused on Education believing one day life will change.

Rogers academic excellence earned him a spot at Busoga University, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism. It was during his time at university that he discovered his passion for radio broadcasting. He started volunteering at RFM Radio, and it was there that he discovered his true calling.

Muyambi expresses gratitude to Mr. Stephen Kityo, the then CEO of RFM Radio whom he describes “a focused highly experienced person who received me as his own son”. Rogers recalls that amidst his being inexperienced and fresh from university, Mr. Kityo still believed in him and even volunteered to “mentor me into the best radio personality”.

Today, Rogers is a leading radio personality in Eastern Uganda, known for his inspiring messages and dedication to promoting education, health, and economic empowerment in his community. Through Goodheart Uganda, he has also provided support to vulnerable communities, including orphans, widows, and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Miyambi’s message to young people is one of hope and encouragement. “Never give up on your dreams,” he says. “Work hard, be prayerful, and always remember that you have the power to change your circumstances.”
