Sebamala Sets Sights on Presidency, Vows to Revive Democratic Party
Kampala, Uganda – Bukoto Central Constituency Member of Parliament in Kampala, Hon. Richard Sebamala revealed his ambitious plans to become Uganda’s president, leveraging the Democratic Party’s reviving strategy as his driving force.
Sebamala, who has been a member of the Democratic Party, expressed his confidence in his ability to steer the party and the country towards a brighter future. “Winning the hearts of the voters could propel my ambitions as a presidential candidate, as Uganda must change to be a country preferred and employing all Ugandans,” he emphasized during an exclusive interview with Scribe.
The 46-year-old politician, who was born in Bisanje, Masaka District, highlighted his unique strengths, including character and strategic planning, which differentiate him from other local leaders who have served as presidents for the Democratic Party and the country.
Sebamala’s presidential ambitions come at a time when Uganda is poised for a significant leadership shift, with President Museveni having been in power since 1986. As opposition parties restructure their systems and leadership, the Democratic Party is gearing up to replace its current president, Nobert Mao, with Sebamala.
However, Sebamala’s goals extend far beyond becoming the Democratic Party president. He envisions himself as Uganda’s president, leveraging his experience as a civil engineer and politician to drive positive change. “With Royalty, Respect, and Hustle, I must traverse all 18 regions within Uganda to disseminate the reviving strategies of the Democratic Party,” he declared.
As Sebamala prepares to take the reins from Mao, speculation is rife that he may secure the Democratic Party’s ticket for the 2026 presidential elections. With his sights firmly set on the presidency, Sebamala is poised to become a formidable force in Ugandan politics.
