Uniting Key Sector Players Will Enhance Safe Labour Migration, Says Ambassador Walusimbi

The Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Hajji Abbey Walusimbi, today, met and held talks with a team from External Labour Power House, headed by, Wilson Usher Owere.
Deliberations centred on positive ways to help coordinate and bring together all stakeholders in the labour externalization industry.
The Ambassador noted that His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni wants them to work together, emphasizing the need to unite key sector players, to streamline and harmonize the labour externalization sector, thus enhancing safe labour migration.
He added that, by uniting labour externalization sector players, such as labour export agencies, migrant workers and labour trainers, there will be social order, discipline, respect, transparency, accountability, productivity & and gainful employment in the external labour market.
In his remarks, Owere pointed out the need to coordinate key stakeholders, under tripartite arrangements, in a bid to reorganize the industry, secure better jobs and uplift the welfare of Ugandan migrant workers.
Ambassador Walusimbi thanked the team for expressing openness, and to closely with the government.
