Erias Lukwago Joins Forum for Democratic Change Officailly from Democratic Party

The opposition political party Forum for Democratic Change has unveiled former Democratic Party Legal Advisor and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago as a member of the FDC Party from DP.

In a function that is still ongoing at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, a Kampala suburb, Patrick Oboi Amuriat the FDC Party President said “I want to welcome ‘omuloodi’ to this family.”

He also indicated that the party is rich of potential candidates including Erias Lukwago to hold the party flag in the forth coming elections.

“We are entering this election in a war formation, I want Me Museveni to know.” Amuriat said

Lukwago fell out with DP in 2010 shortly before the Mbale Delegates conference that saw Norbert Mao become President of Uganda’s oldest party.

Him and a host of other DP stalwarts later formed the Suubi Pressure Group that Partnered with FDC to win several slots in Parliament.

He has been acting as the Deputy President of the People’s Government that was formed by Mr Kizza Besigye, the former FDC president immediately after the 2016 elections.

Lukwago is expected to be nominated as the FDC party flag bearer in the 2021 general elections.

He will contest with President Yoweri Museveni, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and Mugisha Muntu for the country’s top seat.
