How opposition political parties instabilities could guide President Museveni into victory ahead of 2026 general elections

The emerging political parties syndicate and their newly elected leaders in Uganda have orchestrated the political waves in Uganda leaving the core force values and strength of opposition side disunited.
Ahead of 2026 general elections, several emerging political parties such as Democratic Front Party, and others including the National Unity Platform are holding their flags to challenge President Museveni under National Resistance Movement Party making the opposition side disunited in fighting the stabled force of President Museveni.
Those that have had a lifetime chance to meet president Museveni in dialogue believes that the old man is a God granted leader Uganda has ever had in all generations and the disunion of opposition side with emerging politic parties could make President Museveni stronger than before.
True, and very factual majority’s perception remains embracing president Museveni’s leadership and legacy for almost 40 years in leadership.
Several transformational leaders have been emerging from opposition side and end up being tapped by President Museveni and majority are gearing up with emerging parties in questing for fame and attention from president Museveni.
Several leaders in opposition parties have meet and dialogue with President Museveni on a one on me table and before he retires from leadership opposition side in Uganda risks being weakened and disunited.
Maybe as a Ugandan journalist or as a leader in any institution or association and whatever chance that could come to pass, several people priotise in embracing working indoor with President Museveni patriotically.
To be frank, I and my generation have grown, studied and started working professionally – as a Uganda’s certified journalist, author and resercher and others in chosen career of their choices under the leadership of President Museveni.
It is beffiting to put this pen on paper by my own sharing from the bottom of my heart that research shows Mr. Museveni has done more good than harm in leading Uganda.
The country is no longer where it used to be both in the business sector, education sector and other sectors relevant in driving the core values of economic development among Ugandans.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is an incredible leader of all times on African Continent and the thirty eight years in power as Uganda’s president, the lovely husband of first lady Janet Kataha Museveni has compelled professors and political philosophers and researchers and journalists worldwide to read their books, utter  defamatory statements and reverse them in favour of him thus far.
To be frank, they have written books and oral piece of work including visual utterance and end up praising the grace, mercy and favour Mr. Museveni was blessed with from the most high; the creator and the son Lord Jesus Christ.
From the humble tales of President Museveni’s rise to the throne of Uganda’s presidency seat after walking down the talk and overcame the jungles and murky waters and terrible thones within the bush and Gorilla war in Luweero Triangle, Uganda is looking forward for the next President whom the creator and our Lord Jesus Christ esteem to guide the future of Uganda into the promised land.
Truth be told, even the bible itself talks of the transition of powers regardless of the situation as King David himself left the throne to his son King Solomon for forty years after along period of leading the Israelites and Uganda is looking forward to see what might unravel whether President Museveni’s son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba took over from father who is slightly aging as King David was to let his son into the seat as observed in 1st Chronicles 23-1-2.
Boom! Historical books and the democracy and Human Rights activists and lectures from different Universities within Uganda including my former talented journalism and Mass communication lecturer Mr. Hamza Sserugunda and Africa’s influential opinion leaders worldwide have held several insights on different measures of how the transition of power from one leader to another leader could be effected in Uganda.
The political science course unit too reminds me of the political antagonist Aristoto in the likeness of President Museveni whose observation and level of understanding leadership and politics as a zero some game and humans in leadership as rational keeps roaring in my adrenaline.
Indeed this is also Uganda’s case, the narrative is not a different one as whoever tries since 1986 to challenge President Museveni fails and walk back home with saddened hearts and disappointed faces thus far.
Actually, the best of its kind was during the 2001 and 2006 general elections where President Museveni faced stiff competition with opposition side the then Forum for Democratic Party president Dr. Kizza Besigye  currently detained in prison and since then shooters and political antagonists such as Robert Kyagulanyi of National Unity Platform all failed with arms akimbo to engulf power from the old gun in power.
The situation has reversed the nation to be reminded of the story of King David  who gave up his powers to his son King Solomon after a long period of ruling the Israelites and such could materialise if Ugandans accept the parable of the bible to unfold and manifest and leaderhip history in Holybible could repeat itself.
For President Museveni’s case if his son takes over from him could lead the bible parables to be esteemed heavily among African leaders and voters themselves and for the maiden time history will be made and caused to unfold and the story of King David could be referred to by many political philosophers and leaders worldwide.
The conundrum of Uganda’s politics has been heavily dominated by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) under President Yoweri Museveni since 1986 and it is a no go zone wing for opposers and Uganda seems to be under the democracy and agenda setting theory practiced by the first family table in State House and president Museveni’s residential home in Rwakitula where the castodian of knowledge and planners of the nation brainstorm are mentored from thus far.
Several opposition leaders such as the Forum For Democratic Party (FDC)’s Kizza Besigye and National Unity Platform (NUP)’s Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine have thrown their hard stone only to fall astray before catching Museveni from flying in the air with the seat.
Now that Kyagulanyi and Besigye have failed in their quest for the Uganda’s darling presidential seat, the attention of the moving waters has shifted onto Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the first son to the incumbent President.
It all started like a lovely song a few years ago to majority of the NRM when Kainerugaba’s identity was brought into picture as the likely Museveni successor.
Talks about the Muhoozi Presidency first gained prominence when it was brought up by former spy chief, Gen David Sejusa, who accused his former boss, the incumbent Museveni of trying to impose his son onto the people of Uganda, hence the analogy “The Muhoozi project,”.
In 2020, Muhoozi said the phrase, ‘Muhoozi Project’ was coined by ‘evil people’ to try and destroy ‘us’ but has since been turned from a ‘curse’ into a ‘blessing.’.
“Some evil people coined this phrase to try and destroy us! But trust my generation to convert every curse into a blessing! Thank you Ugandans, ” he said.
Since then, there has been a sustained online campaign, facilitated by events promoter Balaam Barugahara of selling the Muhoozi brand. Several social media influencers have also taken to social media to ‘market’ Muhoozi.
Early this month, Museveni said his son Muhoozi did not need to be groomed by him to become Uganda’s next President.
In an exclusive interview with France 24’s Marc Perelman at State House Entebbe, President Museveni asserted that Muhoozi’s fate can only be decided by the people of Uganda who cast their vote through free and fair general elections.
“Why should I groom my son? Those claiming so are not serious. The Constitution of Uganda is very clear on how one ascends Presidency,” Museveni said.
Currently, Gen Muhoozi is the Land Forces Commander and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations and the nationwide rallies of President Museveni’s successor took the lead and wordwide Uganda could wake up one day when Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba takes over from father as the golden son King Solomon whose promise manifested from the creators promises to his father King David.
Accordingly, in Greater Masaka Region Engineer Benon Mugarura also the leading Mobiliser of President Museveni and National Resistance Movement has kept on engaging the natives of the beauty in supporting the ruling government.
Under President Museveni, the good work done speaks more volumes of words than the work yet in progress.
Rogers Bulegeya, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) youth leader in Masaka City says basing on his appealing character, Muhoozi has all it takes to become Uganda’s next President.
“I coherently believe that Muhoozi has been a total revelation in the making as far as the Uganda’s political ideologies and metaphors are concerned. He befits fully in the young generation and I strongly see traits of a true President in him,” said Bulegeya.
On the other hand, Hamza Sserugunda, a journalism lecturer and political analyst says Muhoozi us yet to reach a pinnacle to contest in Uganda’s presidential race.
“Just like any father, Museveni can’t deny his son from succeeding him. Politically, he is still weak only to succeed fairly in the Military wing,”Sseruganda states.
The political analyst further shares that Muhoozi has tried his best to put to light his political ambitions through social media which is generally centred in the central thus forgetting other Ugandans in the rural areas. He also faults President Museveni of not doing enough to empower his son politically.
“A few clusters of youth belonging to NRM has achieved from Muhoozi’s project. However, his attitude of mobilizing them has been a total disaster. It would’ve worked miracles for him if he had mobilized them throughout the country,” Sserugunda added.
“He has only been active in political season thereby protecting the presidential seat of his father. If you want to become a politician, one should acquire political skills and one must aspire to make a difference where it has been lacking,” Sserugunda, a former Kampala University lecturer noted.
He also advised Gen Muhoozi to first contest for a parliamentary seat before turning his focus on presidency.
According to Faizo Ssebugwawo also the Ssembabule District Deputy Resident District Commissioner and formely  youths Leader, Muhoozi would’ve been regarded as better leader if the key players in the current political system headed by his father had performed according to Ugandans’ expectation.
He says majority of the youth are poor and they think their ordeal has been brought about by the poor governance of the current government where Muhoozi belongs. Ssebugwawo says this makes Ugandans perceive him as a would be ‘oppressor’.
“It is not the National Resistance Movement that is not loved. It is the leader that has overstayed in power. If the current regime changes the ways it governs the country probably we can get our next President from NRM and it may be Gen Muhoozi,” he said.
What is known of Muhoozi away from father President Museveni?
Who is Gen Muhoozi?
Born on April 24, 1974 in Dar Salaam Tanzania, Muhoozi is the first son of President Yoweri Museveni and Janet Museveni, the Minister of Education and Sports.
As a child, Muhoozi attended schools in Tanzania, Mount Kenya Academy in Nyeri Kenya and Sweden. After his father became President , he attended Kampala Parents School, King’s College Budo for a while and St. Mary’s College Kisubi.
He was later admitted to Egyptian Military Academy where he took both the company and battalion commanders courses. Upon his return to Uganda from Sandhurst in 2000, Muhoozi was assigned to the Presidential Protection Unit as a second lieutenant. In 2001, he was promoted to the rank of major in the army.
As a major, he became a brigade commander in the Presidential Guard Brigade.
He also attended the Kalama Armored Warfare Training School, in Kabamba, Mubende District. In 2007 he was admitted to a one-year course at the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, graduating in June 2008. Following that, he successfully completed the Executive National Security Programme at the South African National Defence College.
Following his graduation from Fort Leavenworth in 2008, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel and appointed Commander of the Special Forces Group in UPDF. On 16 May 2016 he was promoted to the rank of major general by the President.
In 2019, Museveni promoted Muhoozi to Lieutenant General, the second highest army rank an officer can obtain in the Ugandan army.
Currently, Gen Muhoozi is the Land Forces Commander and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations.
The General is married to  Charlotte Nankunda Kutesa and the couple has three children together and Gen. Muhoozi could be the next King Solomon to lead Uganda as next President as the holy bible parables laid it well from the tales of King David and higolden son King Solomon whose leadership was esteemed and not even queen sheba could disregard his powers and divine knowledge and such could manifest into Uganda’s case come 2026 general elections.
