Mukono People Power Supporter Succumbs to Bullet Wound

The deceased has been identified as Eric Mutasiga who has been part of people power pressure group in Mukono municipality who was shot by a police officer.

It’s alleged that Mutasiga last month was shot by yet unidentified police officer while enforcing curfew in Wantoni trading center found in Mukono municipality.

According to eye witnesses they say that Mutasiga tried to intervene when police had arrested a resident on this village of not obeying curfew hours in this process he was shot in a thigh and was rushed to Mulago hospital.

He died of a bullet injury at Mulago hospital where he was getting treatment from since last month.

Eric Mutasiga before joining people power pressure group was a journalist and worked with HTV and Sk 13 sports online and he then started up Merry Time Nursery school found in Wantoni in Mukono municipality.

During last local council general elections, Mutasiga contested for the post of Ggulu A ward but he lost.

Mutasiga is expected to be buried tomorrow in Nakisunga Sub County found in Mukono district.
