Patrick Ssebambulidde People Power Activist in Uganda Goes Missing
The whereabouts of Patrick Ssebambulidde a resident of Kizungu village found in Makindye division Kampala district a renowned People Power mobilizer are unknown. Ssebambulidde, a supporter of Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine has not been seen for several months and his house was lazed down by unidentified people. Sources say he is currently in hiding after learning that unknown people were trailing him and his house was demolished for supporting People Power a pressure group associated with Bobi Wine. Sources say the victim was cited in some of the campaigns where People Power defeated NRM party in Jinja, Bugiri and Arua. A source said some of the friends of Ssebambulidde were arrested and taken to court where they are still battling cases of election violence on top of stoning the motorcade of the president. The suspect was also arrested, detained and tortured at various police stations across the country. The first time he was arrested was in Kampala together with many other politicians as they took part in the Togikwatako protests, which were aimed at stopping government from lifting the presidential age limit. They were arrested as they matched on streets of Kampala down town. He was rescued by his mother from detention several days later, after being physically tortured by cops. However, he later went into hiding and his parents are worried because they don’t know his whereabouts. Some of people power activities including its president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) are facing treason charges in Gulu court.
