PLE results 2024: When and how to get your results

Kampala, Uganda – The wait is almost over for thousands of Primary Seven leavers who sat for the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE). The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced that the results will be officially released on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
The Minister for Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni, will unveil the results at a ceremony to be held at State House Nakasero. The event will be streamed live on UNEB’s social media platforms (@UNEB_UG) and the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) channels, starting at 11:00 a.m.
According to UNEB, the overall performance of candidates in 2024 is better than that of 2023. The number of candidates who registered for the 2024 PLE also increased by 6.6% compared to 2023, with a total of 798,771 candidates.
UNEB’s Executive Director, Dan N. Odongo, attributed the improved performance to the hard work and dedication of students, teachers, and parents. “We are pleased to note that the overall performance of candidates has improved compared to last year,” he said.
After the results are officially announced, parents, candidates, and well-wishers will be able to access them via SMS by typing: PLEIndex Number, and sending it to 6600. Schools will also access the results through their online portals, while printed copies will be distributed by respective District, City, or Municipal Inspectors of Schools.
UNEB’s Principal Public Relations Officer, Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, emphasized the importance of maintaining security and integrity throughout the process. “We are committed to ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of results,” she said.
The release of the PLE results marks a critical milestone in the academic journey of thousands of learners across the country. Parents, teachers, and students are eagerly awaiting the results, which will determine the next step in their educational pursuits.
