Ssenyondo and Kalanda goals ensured the Red Eagles win their second game on the bounce in the league under Bbosa
Express FC got their second win as many league games under Wasswa Bbosa with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Tooro United at Kavumba.
Frank Ssenyondo and Frank Kalanda scored in the first half before a late goal from Michael Kawooya ensured a nervous end to the game.
Ssenyondo opened the scores inside the first minute before Kalanda doubled the lead in the 37th minute as the Red Eagles took a two goal cushion into the break.
Despite naming Arthur Kiggundu and Isa Lumu in defence, they failed to keep a clean sheet as Kawooya scored for Tooro United in the 84th minute.
The Red Eagles however held on for all points that lift them to 10th on the table with 27 points while Tooro United remain second from bottom with 19 points.
- Kyetume 4-3 Mbarara City
Robert Ssentongo scored with the last kick of the game as Kyetume won a seven goal thriller against Mbarara City with a 4-3 score line at The Mighty Arena, Jinja.
The veteran forward had earlier opened the scores after four minutes from a penalty before Brian Aheebwa equalised for the visitors five minutes later.
But Deo Isejja restored Kyetume’s lead in the 12th minute before another strike by Aheebwa put the visitor’s level again six minutes to the break.
With the game destined for a stalemate, Ssentongo completed his brace with a winner in the third minute of additional time to keep the Slaughters’ survival chances high.
They now move to 12th on the log with 26 points while Mbarara City remain 8th with three points better.
