Bukoto East MP Kanyike  launches Youth Protest Vote, advices Ugandans to vote for Robert Kyagulanyi

The Bukoto East Constituency Member of Parliament Evans Kanyike has launched the maiden Youth Protest Vote initiate in Masaka aimed at equipping the general public on safeguarding and overseeing votes ahead of 2026 general elections in the Country.

The general elections in Uganda are scheduled earlier in next year and the opposition parties are mobilising youth and the general public to vote for better leaders.

Hon. Kanyike said on Sunday that it is high time for the youth as majority voters in the country to take over leadership and shy away from leaders who are against oppressing their freedom and democracy in the ruling government led by President Museveni.

” I want to advice you that you should defend your leaders against blackmail from grapevine and selfish individuals, be exemplary with action and move with courage and hope to be responsible citizens in Uganda,” he said.

Hon. Kanyike adviced the youth to be more courageous in observing elections and be disciplined and convict themselves with dedication ahead of 2026 general elections and vote for National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi.

”President Museveni has instilled fear among the youth and they are easily tapped by selfish politicians. I appeal to you to use this generation and participate in leadership position and remain true to your voters and elders in transitional government,” added Kanyike.

He said the ruling government Under president Museveni has failed to disburse proper health facilities the country is in dire debts from banks and foreign countries money lenders and Bukoto East Constituency women face a lot of challenges during pregnancy and many have lost their children during labour pains due to poor health centres, poor roads and resources within the health centres allocated.

” In government of President Robert Kyagulanyi expect no women dying within hospitals due to poor health facilities in centres. Expect a collaborative government of all. A government filled with jobs and liberty for all Ugandans,” he said.

According to Hon. Kanyike, the 40 years of President Museveni has disappointed the youth and lay tax paying Ugandan as many of them are skilled in formal education without jobs and lack good health and proper resources to cater for their families.

”I was a brick maker within Kitoma village as a youth and my life was disappointed as we struggled and my father too. My background is not different from you who are doing such jobs but my advice is that you shouldn’t remain doing it for all your lives. You must get better and get capital and start looking for better education and good jobs and get more payment opportunities,” he said.

The youth led by their leaders expressed their fear and dissatisfaction in the ruling government citing those that are in youth economic development schemes are led by National Resistance Movement (NRM) workers and too corrupt while exercising their roles especially in government projects such as Palish Development Module and funds have been swindled by the leaders themselves leaving them disappointed.

According to Mr. Magellan Kazibwe, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Bukoto Central Constituency said it is high time for Ugandans to get ahead of power and know their rights and be free from prison as it has been in the case in the divide and rule government and vote for leaders who are caring and honest in delivering for all.

” I am a senior lawyer who committed to fight for your rights in courts of law. I am a credible leader to represent everyone in Bukoto Central Constituency under the visionary leader in Robert Kyagulanyi of National Unity Platform. All youth here should be courageous and vote for leaders in the party that is taking Uganda to another level,” he added.

The function saw over 300 youth including old men and women in attendance including the National Unity Platform Deputy Spokes person Waiswa and were mentored and adviced to remain hardworking towards steering politically stable and economic development in the transitional government in the country away from corrupt leaders such Hon. Mathias Mpuuga and president Museveni’s system.
