The Residential District Commissioner (RDC) Fred Bamwine has asked residents in Mukono to stop stoning security bodies keeping law and order in the district.
Bamwine said that people have started stoning the Local Defense Unit officers (LDU) at night as they patrol enforcing curfew as directed by the president.
“People should stay away from the police, LDUs. These people are armed and don’t need to be provoked as they are trying to do their job,” He said
Bamwine made the remarks during a prayer meeting held at the district headquarters for the country under the theme: “Blessed is the Nation and the people whom He has chosen for his inheritance”
He says that people are continuously defiling the presidential directives where they are found outside during curfew time, they are not keeping a distance.

“Anybody found outside past 7 pm will spend the night in the field next to the district headquarters because the prisons are full,” He noted
The function brought together district political leaders and heads of religious sects in Mukono. All presidential directives were followed with about 30 people in attendance, sanitizing and each seat was place 1 meter from the other to ensure there was a social distance.
The Mayor Mukono Municipality George Kagimu petitioned the RDC to speak to the president about allowing churches and mosques to operate being a country that has placed God in its motto.
He says that they should be given guidelines to operate just like other places have.“I petition the RDC to ask the president to allow places of worship to reopen. Being a country that has dedicated itself to God, guidelines should be issued for churches and mosques to operate,” He said

The Chairperson LC II Nsube Kauga, Kizito Magira urged the religious leaders as they preach the word of God to also remind believers to obey the presidential guidelines issued and also to sacrifice a day to sensitize the public.
Bishop Samuel Lwandasa called for unity among citizens saying that you cannot do accomplish anything alone but with others.
