Thieves terrorize schools in Buliisa, Kigwera Sub County amidst COVID-19 Lockdown

Similarly, as schools remain closed and curfew still stands, unknown thieves have got opportunity of darkness with no movement to break into, and vandalize schools in Kigwera Sub County in Buliisa district.

They came at night having studied the situation that the watchman had over drunk, this time round they found him asleep and removed the solar panels with ease, the concerned person told Buliisa News Room.

Reliable sources reveal that a couple of weeks, thieves broke into the head teacher’s house at Kisansya Primary School that has no watchman, stole property worth millions, and the items stolen included: solar panels, battery, and other things.

The source further reveals that Ndandamire primary school has a watchman and thieves raided the computer laboratory and took two solar panels worth 1.4 millions.

The computer lab was donated by Tullow Oil Company some years back as beneficiary to the staff and pupils of the school, among the schools in Buliisa District beside Buliisa Public Primary School.

Speaking to our reporter this afternoon, the Buliisa District Internal Security Officer Mr. Kato Godfrey said that such theft is all over the country. He however denied that it didn’t happen during lockdown but last year.
