How  Kalangala’s  Hon. Helen Nakimuli walked her way into Uganda’s Parliament

Schools attended: Bukasa Primary School, Hormisdallen Primary School, Our Lady of Good Counsel Secondary School, St. Augustine Secondary Schools and Makerere University.
It is a golden opportunity for the chosen one to walk his or her way into Uganda’s Parliament.
Not only as a one-day visitor but clinging on to become a formidable Member of Parliament by braving heated up sessions to represent people in a demarcated Constituency comes with a remarkable great honour and Honorable Helen Nakimuli; the Woman Member of Parliament for Kalangala District is no exceptional.
Sited at the tranquil chairs of Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, Hon. Nakimuli is as brave as a lovely dove holding two impaired long arms to ease her movement abilities following succumbing a stroke during the Netball competitions for the Uganda parliamentary Netball team.
This has not deterred Hon. Nakimuli from exercising and implementing the planned activities and has lingered on by traversing Kalangala District in monitoring and effecting service delivery among the natives in the area.
 The soft-spoken Hon. Nakimuli has remained whimsical and confident in sharing that walking her way into Uganda’s parliament was a long-term vision the latter had envisioned in the beginning way back from her youthful and high school days.
Born on July 2, 1985 to an Orthodox priest, Reverand Father Christopher Walusimbi and Ms Maria Nalwanga Walusimbi residents of Lukuba village, Kyamuswa sub-county in Kalangala District, Nakimuli attended Bukasa Primary School, Hormisdallen Primary School, Our Lady of Good Counsel Secondary School for her Ordinary Level and St. Augustine Secondary School in Wakiso District for her Advanced level before graduating at Makerere University.
At 39-years-old, Nakimuli remains a woman of substance and integrity who has mastered the art of exercising her duties as National Unity Platform party cadre with diligence and remaining honest with her humble background from Lukuba village in Kalangala islands into the face of legislators advocating for unity and transparency in leadership in the eleventh parliament.
In a lowly soft-spoken tone, Nakimuli as calm as a rose flower has been a formidable umbrella in bringing together the youths, men and women in Kalangala District and this has greatly impacted service delivery through extending hands-on projects as well as sensitizing the country about women emancipation.
By nature, Nakimuli is a hardworking woman and has worked tirelessly to change the lives of all natives in Kalangala District, especially the youth, men and women in their respective developmental groups.
Additionally, this has awakened the eyes of local communities and the government itself to engage in extending developmental programs for the natives to participate in money generating economic activities especially; fishing, agriculture mechanization and oil palm growing to alleviate poverty thus far.
The opposition side in the reigns of Speaker Anita Annet Among led parliament chosen wisely as King Solomon in the book of parables to amplify her as the Head of communication due to her craftiness and expertise in emphasizing issues of national importances to higher masses with her gifted brains and moral ability in articulating and disseminating developmental issues to higher masses.
The latter has been a formidable face of women in Uganda’s parliament and when she introduced Nakimuli foundation aimed at empowering all natives in Kalangala District including women developmental groups and extending services to the natives in Kalangala Islands, it was a thy of relief to the locals to get hold onto services offered directly to them by their representative in the parliament.
Nakimuli is renowned as a passionate sports woman due to her spiking abilities in air within the Volleyball parliamentary team and has been a subject of holding talent scouting games including organising sports tournaments for the youths both men and women in Kalangala Islands to uplift their standards of living.
” Oh wow! I’m the captain of the volleyball women’s team in parliament. I also play in the Volleyball National League. I play netball and basketball for Parliament too,” she said.
Nakimuli is a formidable woman of integrity who has mastered the art of exercising her duties in parliament with diligence and remaining honest with her humble background.
As for clarity, she has been a formidable umbrella in empowering women in Kalangala District and this has greatly impacted service delivery through extending hands-on training through different projects for Women in Kalangala.
By nature, Nakimuli is a hardworking woman whose efforts to stir development in Kalangala District has awakened the opposition side in Uganda’s parliament to work closely with her to amplify the voice of the voiceless in emphasizing issues of national importance with her gifted mouth in communication skills.
The latter has been a formidable face of Women in  parliament and when she introduced Nakimuli foundation aimed at extending services into Kalangala District; it was a relief for the locals to get hold onto services offered directly to them by their representative.
Nakimuli remains an architecture in a peace-making and ensuring integral development to all the Kalangala District natives and has emphasized the need to hold communal meetings and peaceful dialogues amongst the locals irrespective of their affiliated political party to address their challenges amicably.
