Kangulumira Public Secondary School Gets Major Boost

KANGULUMIRA, Uganda – In a groundbreaking ceremony on wednesday, Kangulumira Public Secondary School received over 1.5 billion Uganda shillings for the construction of a new administrative block and computers.

The District Education Officer – DEO in Kayunga, Dan Bubale emphasized the importance of quality education, urging the community to focus on developing the area’s educational resources. “The world needs human resources that can make a positive impact,” he said. “The country belongs to those who will be there tomorrow.”

Bubale also highlighted the role of education in shaping the future of the country. “Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our young people,” he said. “It is the foundation upon which we build our future.”

Kayunga district Local government chairperson Andrew Muwonge advised parents to prioritize their children’s education and nutrition. “Feed your children, and they will learn,” he said. “Kangulumira Public is now one of the best schools in the district.”

Kangulumira Public Secondary School is a public secondary school founded by the local community to fight the then high illiteracy rate in Kangulumira, a town council in Kayunga district.

Muwonge also emphasized the importance of community involvement in education. “We must all work together to ensure that our children receive the best possible education,” he said. “We owe it to ourselves, our children, and our community.”

The Headteacher George Wateta thanked the government for their support and promised to use the funds effectively. “We are grateful for this investment in our school,” he said. “We will make sure that it benefits our students and the community as a whole.”

The construction of the administrative block and purchase of computers are expected to commence immediately, bringing positive changes to the school and community. The project is expected to take several months to complete, but the end result is expected to create improve quality of education in the school.

Public schools in Uganda, an country in the East African bloc, are characterized by underfunding. Most of the structures in traditional public schools are now dilapidated.

The funding of Kangulumira Public is one of the moves government is taking to revive the glory of public schools in Uganda.
