President Yoweri Museveni and his Wife Janet Celebrates Golden Jubilee Marriage Anniversary
Ntungamo: President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni marked their remarkable 50 years of marital bliss with a grand celebration held in Ntungamo District where they first met more than five decades ago as teenagers. The couple’s Golden Jubilee anniversary was a momentous occasion that brought together family, friends, and dignitaries to honor their enduring love and commitment.
A church service was held today at St. Matthew Cathedral Kyamate to mark the great milestone before local and foreign guests were served a sumptuous meal at the couple’s second country home in Irenga Village, Kikoni Parish.
According to Mrs. Museveni’s book, My Life’s Journey, President Museveni and Janet Museveni wedded on August 24th, 1974, in London at a small church in Turnham Green, London, United Kingdom, and later had their reception at Kensington Hilton Hotel in London, attended by only a few family members.
Among the foreign guests included the Nigerian Royal Family of Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni Of Ife Kingdom, Head Of Yoruba Race worldwide and co-chair, of the National Council Of Traditional Rulers Of Nigeria.
